Chinese Fishing Nets is a must-visit place in Kochi, popular for fixed land installation of fish nets. The nets fixed on bamboo and teak poles help the fishing community fish in a unique method. As per history, it is believed that the Chinese fishing nets were brought to Fort Kochi by the Chinese Explorer from the court of Chinese emperor Kublai Khan.
This historical spot is popular for its beautiful architecture and the ambience. The church has a long history that dates back to 1503. Built by Portuguese traders, it was later renovated under the guidance of Raja of Kochi in 1503. In the year 1923, the church became a protected monument.

Dutch palace, also called Mattanchery palace is a Kerala style of architecture combined with colonial influences. The palace was built during 1545 CE by the Portuguese as a gift to the King Veera Kerala Verma of Kochi dynasty. The palace has got a lovely collection of murals.
Known in different names like Cochin Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Synagogue and Paradesi Synagogue, it is the oldest active synagogue in Kochi. The synagogue was constructed in 1567 and was ruined by the Portuguese in 1662. Later in 1664, it was renovated by the Dutch.

They took an oath to preserve the traditions followed by them since AS 52 and rejected the Roman rituals by the Portuguese invaders.
